For Chevrolet Pro Stock fans, 1980 hurt.

Lee Shepherd, David Reher and Buddy Morrison carried the championship lead into the season finale, only to watch a broken transmission open the door for Bob Glidden to steal the title on the final day.

They remembered.

In 1981, Reher-Morrison-Shepherd came back with something even meaner.

Shepherd won six NHRA national events, went an incredible 31-5 in eliminations and closed the season by winning the final four races, including his second consecutive U.S. Nationals and the World Finals.

The result was Chevrolet's first NHRA Pro Stock championship since Larry Lombardo in 1976 — and the beginning of four consecutive titles for Shepherd and Reher-Morrison.

CompetitionPlusStore.com celebrates the season that changed Pro Stock with the second release in our limited-edition Reher-Morrison Heritage Series — the 1981 Reher-Morrison-Shepherd Championship T-Shirt.

If the response to our 1984 Heritage Series shirt was any indication, don't expect this one to hang around long.
