Some race cars fit the rules. Buddy Ingersoll's Buick Regal rewrote them, at least for the 1986 season.

At a time when Pro Stock was dominated by massive naturally aspirated V-8 engines, Ingersoll rolled into IHRA competition with a turbocharged Buick V-6 measuring just 260 cubic inches. While the competition packed more than 700 cubic inches under the hood, Ingersoll relied on boost, ingenuity and a willingness to challenge convention.

The result was one of the boldest chapters in Pro Stock history.

Fans didn't come to the fence to see another V-8. They came to see the Buick. They came to see the turbo. They came to see if the little V-6 could do the impossible.

More than four decades later, it remains the only V-6 to ever compete at the highest level of Pro Stock drag racing.

This shirt honors the man, the machine and the moment that proved drag racing's greatest innovators never cared much about doing things the conventional way.
