Before the championships, before the Hall of Fame recognition, and before Gene Fulton became one of the most respected names in sportsman drag racing, there was a plain white 1964 Chevy II wagon.
Purchased for less than $200 on a used car lot in Texas after Fulton returned from military service, the unassuming wagon became one of the most feared race cars in Southeastern drag racing. What looked like a grocery getter to everyone else became a championship-winning machine that carried Fulton to three world titles and helped build the Spartanburg, S.C., engine shop he still operates today.
Known simply as "The White Wagon," the car earned a reputation for unbeatable traction on rough racetracks and a toughness that matched its owner. Fulton often said the wagon paid for the business he built and launched the career that made him a drag racing legend.
This exclusive CompetitionPlusStore.com heritage design celebrates one of the most unlikely success stories in drag racing history — a refrigerator-white station wagon that became a champion and a symbol of determination, ingenuity, and winning against the odds.
For those who appreciate the cars that built the sport, this one belongs in your collection.
